The Backrooms Game: Escaping the Unknown

The Backrooms Game began as an online creepypasta, depicting an infinite labyrinth of yellow, moldy office-like rooms that exist beyond of reality. "If you're not careful and noclip out of reality in the wrong areas," a message cautioned, "you'll end up in the Backrooms." Since then, the concept has grown into a large internet mythology, inspiring several films, tales, and games. Among these adaptations, The Backrooms game has stood out for its extremely immersive and unnerving experience, which combines horror, mystery, and survival in a bizarre scenario.

Gameplay and Objectives

Most Backrooms games have a similar structure: you are locked in Level 0—the original yellow-tinted labyrinth—and must explore to find your way out. However, as you delve deeper, things grow weirder and more perilous. The game is often played from the first person viewpoint, which adds to the immersion and excitement.

Gameplay is slow and deliberate. There are no clear maps or goal markers—only long passageways, odd sounds, and the persistent feeling that you are being watched. Some versions contain survival features such as maintaining sanity or fleeing from creatures (monsters or mysterious beings). Others focus on exploration and environmental narrative.
